i-Catcher Console 5.3 provides a complete scalable CCTV system, with motion detection, alerting, remote web interface, simultaneous record & playback, scheduled activity, device control, and flexible display options, exceeding the standards you'd expect from a modern digital CCTV system. iCatcher Console uses a wide range of camera devices, including USB webcams, capture cards (for connection to conventional analogue CCTV cameras), and the latest network/IP video servers and cameras. Because of its modular design, you are not limited to one type of device for the whole system - you can mix devices as required.
iCatcher Console also works with PTZ (Pan, Tilt & Zoom) cameras to not only provide a remotely moveable CCTV camera, but also provides auto-tracking - the camera can move to follow movement through a monitored area.
Motion detection is performed without the need for PIR triggers and external motion detectors. Once motion is detected, recording begins. For extra security, i-Catcher can record before and after the motion event to ensure you capture everything, and sensitivity controls add an extra level of flexibility.
Digital image storage means that access to stored images is instant, and allows you to playback the footage while still recording, as well as a loop play feature, to continuously loop the most recent activity - features traditional CCTV systems are simply unable to provide.
With digital image storage comes simple yet comprehensive systems for image management. Archiving automatically ensures you retain the right amount footage, image integrity checking ensures your footage isn't tampered with, and feed management allows you to precisely control the storage of images per camera feed.
iCatcher Console supports I/O input and control through a variety of interfaces, allowing almost any remote control configuration (subject to use of controller hardware). We have set up a web page that uses our Console with an Axis 241Q video server to demonstrate both remote control of appliances and the simple means to embed control of devices into your own web pages. Configuring users
iCatcher Console has a fine grained user permission system that allows you to control what abilities and access each user has to the system on the local machine and remotely via the web interface.
If you have configured any users with local administrator access, then iCatcher Console will start up with the system logged out by default. You can then login using the details of any enabled user to be able to see video feeds. If you have logged in as a user with local administrator access then you will have full access to the system including configuration.
To make the system startup fully with all feeds accessible, you can specify a user to automatically login as. It can also lock the Console allowing the feeds to be viewed but no changes made. If no local administrator users exists, then iCatcher Console will allow full access by default.
The users configured here will also apply to the built in web interface.
To control whether guest users without a username or password can access the system, you can set the permissions for the 'Default user'. If a specific user needs greater or administrator access, then they can use the 'Login' button on the main web view page to enter their details. The page will then reload with the relevant access.
iCatcher Console can send admin alerts when a user logs in to the web interface or when a login failure occurs. See the Alerts help for more details.
To add a new user click the New button. A dialog will appear with the following options
- User name. The name for the new user
- Enabled. If this options is not enabled, you will not be able to log in as this user
- Email address/Phone number. These allow you to store contact details for the user for later reference
- Local Administrator. This gives the user rights to administer iCatcher Console from the PC console
- Remote Administrator. This gives the user rights to administer iCatcher Console remotely via the web interface
- Allow changing layouts will give a non admin user permission to change between saved layouts
- Allow remote viewing of feeds allows this user to view live feeds via the web interface
- Allow remote playback allows this user to review recorded footage via the web interface
- Remote PTZ Control allow the user the move PTZ cameras via the web interface
- Remote automation allows the user to access I/O devices and automation via the web interface
