Shooting Pool is always fun, but unlike most videogames it is something we get chance to do in the real world too. If last time you played in the bar you weren’t quite the hustler you hoped to be, maybe you can brush up your skills with this fun Pool simulator.
Installation
3D Ultra Cool Pool generally installs without any issues. On our test machine, there was a long pause during the preparation phase, and the progress bar stayed stuck on 99% for a minute or two, but after that the game installed just fine. You will be asked if you want to do a regular or large install, we recommend you choose “Large”. Also, you should make a note of the games installation directory (C:SierraCoolPool by default) as you will need this information when it comes to patching the game.

At the end of the installation process, you will be offered a AT&T dial up internet trial. We suspect this offer might have expired, so select “No.” The installer may throw an error at this point, just cancel or decline any message boxes that appear, and choose “Register later” when the installer offers you the option to register. Installation is now completed.
Patching
There were two patches for the game, a 1.1 update and a multiplayer update. Since the online multiplayer no longer works, we only need the 1.1 update. You can download that here.
Once the patch has downloaded, double click on it to run it. You will then need to point the patch program to your 3D Ultra Cool Pool installation directory (C:SierraCoolPool by default) and then click on “Open”. The patching process should then take no more than a second or two.

With the patch installed you can now start the game. There are no visual quality options to tweak and the game is fixed to a 800×600 resolution.
